What is Prayer

The sermon this morning was on prayer. was talking about when the church prayed for peter and he was released from prison. Why was the churches prayer so effective that peter walked out of beefedup security with no oposition. First it was Gods will that he be glorified in this way and second the church was united in what they were praying for. I think back to when I was on the farm that it was really hard when one person had to do all the work. Just before we sold the cows it was jusy myself and my parents running the farm. and it was a lot of work. It was to much work for the three of us and a lot of things did not get done. But families who have a lot of kids or just hire a lot of people can get the work done because many hands make light work. When everyone comes together to work on a project it gets done in a short time. And alot can get acomplished in that time. That is like prayer if a group of people come together and agree on something that is Gods will alot can be accomplished with their prayers. But if only one person is doing it. Maybe it can be accomplished but it will be a lot of work and time. So we as Gods people need to find out what the Lords will is and come together and pray fervently for that to happen. You say what is Gods will. The one thing that always comes to my mind is Gods will is all men be saved. So we can prayer for people believing they will be saved. Just like he desires people from all nations and people groups to worship him. Like people groups in Africa. pray for us as we prepare to go to minister to people in africa that he will prepare the way and draw them to him.
